DESCRIPTION:Burien Elks Lodge 2143 will recognize the “POW / MIA Recog
 nition Day” on Saturday\, September 19\, 2026 at 4 pm at the lodge.\n\
 nThis event will honor those who have been a captive during a conflict a
 nd those who are missing still. The National POW / MIA Recognition Day w
 as established in 1979 by President Jimmy Carter. Since then\, other pro
 clamations have set the third Friday of September as National POW / MIA 
 Recognition Day. Observance of this day will take place all across this 
 country\, on Military Instillations\, Ships\, Various Government agencie
 s\, Cities and Town\, Capitals\, Schools\, and various Veterans Organiza
 tions.\n\nPlease join Burien Elks as we pay tribute and respect to our P
 OW and recommit our efforts to bring our MIA home. With Elks our service
  members are never forgotten\, never forsaken.
