Burien Elks Lodge 2143 will recognize the “POW / MIA Recognition Day” on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 4 pm at the lodge.

This event will honor those who have been a captive during a conflict and those who are missing still. The National POW / MIA Recognition Day was established in 1979 by President Jimmy Carter. Since then, other proclamations have set the third Friday of September as National POW / MIA Recognition Day. Observance of this day will take place all across this country, on Military Instillations, Ships, Various Government agencies, Cities and Town, Capitals, Schools, and various Veterans Organizations.

Please join Burien Elks as we pay tribute and respect to our POW and recommit our efforts to bring our MIA home. With Elks our service members are never forgotten, never forsaken.
