Dinner for a Cause
Third Thursday of Every Month
About seven years ago we started our monthly dinner for a cause, the third Thursday of every month.
We host a dinner buffet that is $15 per person with $10 going straight to the cause, and $5 helping us recoup some of our food costs. We also get members to donate raffle prizes so we can sell dollar raffle tickets with 100% of the proceeds going to the cause.
Giving back to our community

We started out by doing in-house programs for the veterans, Tall Elks, therapy program, scholarships, and the Dictionary fund. Then we started thinking how can we give back to our community, so we started looking at different causes in the Burien community.
We have supported Burien Cares Animal Rescue, Bloodworks Northwest, Paralyzed Ceterans of America Burien branch, The Salvation Army, Schonwald Camp for Kids, and so many more.
We have also supported causes that are near and dear to our members: Brain Cancer of Washington, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome for the CRPS Forum Research, and Multiple Sclerosis. We have added this year lupus research and The Genesis Project. These are just a few of the causes we give to. We also reach out to each of those causes to have someone come to speak about the cause and awareness.
We would like to sincerely thank our members and their guests for coming and supporting all of these causes.
