Burien Elks Bulletin, September 2026

Hello All,

Wow! Can you believe it’s already September?

What does September mean for you?

End of summer, dreary days coming soon? For some that may be the case… But for the Elks it means Scholarship time! All Elks Scholarships opened August 15th. Do you know a high school senior? Let them know about our many scholarships. 4-year Scholarships and Trade Scholarships, reach out today to our Scholarship chair George Harper for more info.

Huge Shout out to Camp Schoenwald for hosting our annual Elks Picnic. Thank you all that attended and for bringing your favorite dishes, also those that donated all of the beverages. We hope you had a chance to hike the beautiful camp. It’s amazing it is tucked away right here in Burien.

Ask yourself why did you become an Elk? Just to name a few. To volunteer? We would like to thank all of our members who volunteer at the lodge! Without you all we would not be able to achieve all that we do! Elks Care Elks Share!

Upcoming events: as always, we have Bingo and Birthday Club every Wednesday Night. If your Birthday is in September come in any Wednesday for your Birthday meal on us. Every Friday is Prime Rib Friday. Remember if you want Prime Rb reservations need to be made by noon on Friday. Sept. 17th is our Dinner for a cause benefiting Highline School Foundation. Sept 19th is our very Special Ceremony for POW/MIA at 4:30pm. Sept 26th is our Central District, District Deputy Clinic at the Puyallup Elks from 9-3pm. If you are considering becoming an officer or on any committee this is a very informational day, I highly recommend coming even if you just want to learn more about being an Elk Member. Please see all flyers in this newsletter for events. As always we could use more ideas for fun and exciting events at the lodge. Please feel free to email me with your ideas of what you would like to see at the lodge and if you want to volunteer email me sodomojomissy68@gmail.com.

Please watch your inbox for upcoming weekly email blasts to let you all know what’s happening each week at Burien Elks. The newsletter is now being sent via email so please call the office or email burienelks@comcast.net or 206 243-2143 and give them your email. As always, the newsletter is printed and available in the lodge. If you have ideas or suggestions for the Newsletter, please send them to our absolutely Amazing Editor George Harper!
